I have been an educator for 17 years. I have worked in classrooms anywhere from pre-K to adults at the Master's level and love what I do. I am licensed in special education and have taught ELA, social studies and science. I enjoy taking time to help students of all levels solve problems and seek the answers to the questions they have. In addition, I am a father of three. Being both a parent and an educator can be a challenge, but it allows me to have a unique perspective when dealing with situations on both fronts. I feel better prepared as a parent by having my educator background and I feel much better prepared as an educator, that has focused the majority of my career with struggling middle school students, because of my parenting background. The combination of both allows me to shift between the two lenses in each facet of my life and evaluate my responses from a variety of angles prior to responding. In addition, these two lenses have prepared me to help aspiring teachers at the Master's level. I feel like my two worlds continually overlap and I am very grateful for that.
